Olga Matta Garcia

Olga Matta-García, with over thirty five years of experience in the banking industry, devoted the last nine years of her banking career working as Executive Vice President of BBVA. Initially, in 1998, she was named Director of Global Banking, which included Wholesale and Institutional Banking, Cash Management and the International Department.  Then, within the same BBVA, she was named Director of the Risk Department, which included the Credit, Risk Management, Collections, Global Management, Operational Risk and Market Risk divisions.

Before, she held the positions of Executive Vice-President of Credit in Eurobank, and President & CEO of Banco del Comercio of PR, having played a key role in the successful merge of these two banks.

Earlier, she worked for twelve years with Bank of Boston in Puerto Rico, as Vice President of Risk, which encompassed Credit, Credit Administration, Loan Review and New Business; and as Senior Regional Credit & Loan Review Officer of the Central America and Caribbean Region. This region included Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, Haiti, Curaçao, and the Dominican Republic.

Her banking career began with Banco Economías & Préstamos, which later was acquired by Banco Central Hispano. Here she held important positions, the last one being Director of the Credit Administration Department.

At present, she is a Real Estate Broker, specializing in the sale and leasing of commercial properties. She is also a Consultant, offering her services on commercial and other types of financing, as well as on the structuring of commercial transactions and negotiations with financial institutions, both to individuals and corporations.

As a Consultant she also offers another services such as debt restructuring, the  revision of commercial loan documents,  the writing or revision of credit policies and procedures, the analysis of credit proposals and special projects, among others.

She is as well a trainer and offers seminars related to the Real Estate industry and credit analysis.
